    Read You Right
Words and music (c) Roger Hammer

I was standing alone one night when I laid
Eyes on the perfect sight.  She said

“Please take me home, I’m alone for the night
    Thought I had nothing going
But I have now if I read you right
    Read you right.”

“I’m a traveler here,” she said, “And I’m
Tired and ready for bed.  I have

Traveled all day with nobody in sight
Saw no sign on the way
But I have now if I read you right
    Read you right.”

As if magic had turned the air into the
Atmosphere of a Fair, she said

“I’m out here to roam all the day and all night
To live life as a poem
And I only want to read you right.
You to me are a poem
All I want to do is read you right.

    Do I read you right?
    Read you right
